Photographer of viral Jones Bridge album shares prenup shoot tips

By Kristelle Bechayda

A series of breathtaking prenuptial photos along Jones Bridge went viral as it shed light on the beauty of the restored structure.

Last Nov. 4, Peach Frost Studio uploaded the prenuptial photos of Meyrick Guan and Bernadine Go on its Facebook page. The post immediately gained traction as netizens commented their awe at the historical bridge’s grandeur. Even Manila city mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, who reshared the post on his official Facebook account, expressed his appreciation for the team behind the pre-nuptial shoot.

Maraming salamat po sa couple, Meyrick at Bernardine, pati na rin po sa Peach Frost Studio sa appreciation niyo po sa ating efforts para pagandahin ang ating makasaysayang Jones Bridge!” He wrote in the caption. “Ang ganda po ng prenup!”

Around two weeks before the photos were taken, the couple was passing by Jones Bridge when they saw the ornate lamps being installed. Taken in by its beauty, they decided to have their pre-nuptial shoot taken there since they live nearby.

Aside from the famous Jones Bridge, Meyrick and Bernadine also had their shots taken in other places around Manila like Bonifacio Shrine and the newly-painted LGBTQ+ pedestrian lane. When their pre-nuptial photos were finally uploaded, their photographers had no idea it would gain traction.

“We never expected it to go viral,” Cheska Felisimo tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. She and her husband Leo were the ones who photographed the couple. “All I thought was it was unique since I think we were the first ones to shoot there at three in the morning. Until now, Leo and I are still in denial.”

When asked for her tips for couples who are currently planning their pre-nuptial shoot, Cheska suggests for them to check the weather, especially if they are planning to do it outdoors. She added that having a theme in mind would also help in choosing the locations.

“[The] locations would usually depend on the theme of the prenup. Some prefer the outdoors while others love the indoors, or even both! Great photos can be created anywhere. With Meyrick and Bernadine, who would’ve thought their prenup would look like it was taken in a different country?” Cheska said.

As for choosing their own theme, the photographer suggests to look into their interests as a couple. “Be yourself because prenups should reflect both personalities. If they like picnics, then go ahead! If the other is an adventurous type, why not go hiking or hit the beach?” she said, adding that choosing something unique may also lead to a great concept.
