At first glance, blogger and fashion designer Tricia Gosingtian-Gabuna’s latest Instagram post looked like any regular #ootd post. But her caption, #everyday TG and baby #14weeks (in @hinhinworld of course!), made her followers do a double take.
January 15, 2020 marks their second year as a married couple, and it seems they are ready for the next chapter. This 2019 has been busy for this pretty petite lady with her very own fashion retail brand Hinhin, which she launched last August. Adding to her online fashion shop brand is another announcement. The couple is expecting a baby!
Moms and Babies got to catch up with the blooming Tricia in an online chat. Find out how she’s doing in our exclusive interview:
Who did you first share this exciting news?
For the past three months, I’ve only told family and a few close friends. Since my brand Hinhin launched just last August, I didn’t raise suspicions from anyone since they all just assumed I was busy working with the brand. Because I had to be on bed rest for the first few weeks, and because I experienced really bad morning (or should I say all day?) sickness during my first trimester, I gave myself a break from posting online and doing any blogger-related activities. Constantly posting and updating about Hinhin was the perfect cover up!
What were their reactions?
Everyone is really happy! Our baby will be the first grandchild on both sides, so it’s really very exciting.
How are you feeling so far?
Now that I’m just starting my second trimester, I can feel my energy coming back slowly! Every day, I’m forced to adapt to little changes. As a creature of habit, I can really tell that I already love my child so much because I’m willing to let go of all the comfort that I enjoyed before becoming a parent.
Why did you decide to share the news this week?
I just felt like it! I put on one of the new dress designs for the next Hinhin drop, and felt a sudden surge of magic. I also waited until it was safe to announce because we all know first trimester can be a little tricky.
Was this pregnancy planned?
RG and I have been together since 2011, and we got married in 2017. We’ve definitely enjoyed each other’s company these past eight years, and we made sure to not leave any room for “what ifs” before having this baby. We want to be 100 percent responsible for our decision, and with how our careers have been progressing, we both decided it was about time.
What are you preparing for now?
I haven’t prepped for anything at all! I was too busy just trying to keep myself awake during the first trimester. I have yet to do research on what I need to prepare, but I’m really taking my time and not pressuring myself.
